After celebrating enough birthdays, the human body’s production of beneficial hormones such as testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone begin to decline. These declines can come as early as 25 years of age, and continue to drop for the rest of your life. The objective of Hormone Replacement Therapy is to restore hormonal levels to their former youthful state. Ideally, this restoration process will increase energy, libido, exercise performance, and recovery. Exogenous bio-identical hormones are used in treatment to achieve this.
Patients can expect the following results:
The ‘Platelet Rich Plasma’ (PRP) process begins with a sample of the patient’s blood. The blood is then centrifuged at high speeds to yield a by-product highly concentrated in platelets, the body’s repair mechanisms that circulate in blood. We re-introduce these platelets into injured tissue to promote cellular growth and accelerate healing processes. Platelet-rich plasma, by itself or combined with exosomes or stem cells, has been shown to have a variety of benefits.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patient’s own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. Blood is drawn from the arm and centrifuged to remove red blood cells. Our technique ensures that the final PRP product contains a highly concentrated number of growth factor rich platelets that will facilitate cellular growth, proliferation, healing, and cell differentiation. By injecting platelets into a target area, growth can be stimulated. PRP can be broadly applied from hair to joints to genitalia.
Exosomes are tissue derived endomembrane vesicles that are present in a majority of cells in the human body. They are comprised of lipids, proteins, and mRNA which can be transferred to surrounding cells in order to nourish or communicate with them. These therapeutic cells locate sites of injury and sequentially secrete bioactive factors that are immunomodulatory as well as regenerative. Following injection, exosomes will act in their microenvironment to communicate with local cells via local signaling. Exosomes can also be administered in an IV solution in which they will locate damaged or diseased tissues around the body for repair. Exosomes have shown promise in treatments of arthritis, brain inflammation diseases (MS, encephalitis), anti-aging, and many others.
Peptides are compounds consisting of two or more amino acids linked in a chain. Modern medicine has increased its focus on peptide therapy, which can elicit various therapeutic responses in target tissues. Peptide therapies can treat conditions ranging from osteoarthritis to sexual dysfunction. Additionally, peptides promote muscle building, weight loss, longevity, and even skin tanning. Dr. Foster frequently refreshes his peptide knowledge by attending at 2-5 peptide conferences a year, so we can provide the most cutting-edge peptide treatments available.
Peptides and Advanced Therapies:
Intravenous (IV) therapy provides hydration supplemented with medication directly into the bloodstream. Many drugs that are swallowed or applied topically are limited in their digestion and absorption by stomach acid and skin. Receiving medication in an IV provides the upmost bioavailability when compared to the other methods of medication administration.
Foster Medicals’ IV Hydration Therapy can aid with the following:
How long does IV Therapy take?
IV therapy takes about an hour. It can take longer but this is only with special infusions (i.e. supplemental iron or NAD).
What kind of IV Therapies are offered at Foster Medical?
We offer IV therapies with an array of medications to suit your specific needs. For instance, if you are ill with a stomach bug, we will infuse 2 grams Vitamin C for immune health, 1 milliliter of our MIC-B12 concoction for energy, and 8 milligrams of Zofran for nausea.
Vitamin C – Immune booster
MIC-B12 – Energy booster, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory
Glutathione – Liver detoxifier
Zofran – Nausea alleviation
NAD – Anti-aging, detoxification, energy regulation
Toradol – Anti-inflammatory
B-complex – Antioxidant
Foster Medical combines medical consultation, nutritional guidance, and exercise programs to set the patient up for success. This program includes consistent monitoring of the patient’s body composition and blood work in combination with a nutrition and fitness coach to guide the way. Diet and exercise are proven to be two of the most important factors for longevity. Maintaining a healthy diet and activity level is increasingly difficult as we are constantly exposed to high caloric, heavily processed foods during an overwhelmed daily routine. Our team of nutrition and fitness coaches will motivate you through your journey. In conjunction with a patient specific treatment plan developed by the physician, patients can expect to see real results that last.
Depending on the patient’s goals, the physician assisted weight loss program may include the following:
The latest research on hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has shown significant promise. HBOT involves exposing the body to 100% oxygen in a monoplace chamber. The breathable air in our environment consists of ~21% oxygen, therefore, the level of oxygenation far exceeds that which is possible with ambient air. HBOT also exposes the body to higher barometric pressure which allows oxygen to diffuse directly into blood plasma. In addition, the amount of oxygen that binds to the hemoglobin molecule in RBCs is maximized, increasing the delivery to tissues. Our chamber has a pressure of up to 3 atmospheres (atm) which is similar to tension felt by a diver at a depth of 20 meters (66ft). With the two components of increased pressure and maximal oxygen exposure in tandem, HBOT is able to create a tissue oxygen tension ten times greater than normal. The higher the oxygen tension, the better the body is able to fight infection.
The human body’s tissues require an adequate supply of oxygen to function. When tissues become injured, the requirement increases in order for repair to occur. An elevation in blood oxygen temporarily restores normal levels of blood gases and tissue function to promote healing and fight infection. HBOT is used to treat several medical conditions ranging from anemia to multiple sclerosis. A very interesting use is the considerable benefit for patients wanting to promote longevity and prevent illness. Studies have also shown patients can experience a cognition boost while preventing the onset of dementia.
At Foster Medical, one HBOT treatment session lasts 90 minutes. This includes 15 minutes of increasing pressurization (the dive), followed by 60 minutes of therapy at (up to) 3 atm, then another 15 minutes of decreased pressurization (decompression). Recommended protocols call for numerous consecutive treatment sessions. One study has shown more than 8,000 health genes being turned on after only three treatments.
Compared to many medical procedures, side effects of HBOT are very few to none. Ear complaints can be remedied with a few simple techniques. The primary concern of many patients is claustrophobia from being in the chamber for a sustained period of time. Patients can have peace of mind knowing that our nursing staff will continuously monitor them in the monoplace, and for those afraid of confined spaces we can provide medication to put the mind at ease.
